“Hustlerbyname” is the comics moniker of Glenn Hustler, a middle-aged Yorkshireman trying to make sense of this mad world through his art, though admittedly his artistic journey did get off to a false start. He limped out of university and actually quit art altogether after doing an illustration degree that turned him off with its heavily corporate and capitalist outlook. He eventually discovered what comics could do via the work of Joe Sacco who inspired him to use the medium to spotlight and explain humanity’s many, many problems. His monochromatic comics explore even the most complex subject matter with a bold, straight forward approach and a whimsical flair.
